At this point in time, a lot of "goodbye" songs are playing in my head...and I'm making lists of things to pack, things not to forget, people to tell...I can't say there were no happy moments here as some of my colleagues are really great and I hope to be friends for life with them as they have taught me so many things during our "no holds barred, no topics too taboo" conversations. They, too, are moving on to better things.
What I will also miss here are the cats, although Oreille Noire's kittens are quite big and are quite independent (they even know how to wait for this kind old uncle who shares his lunch with all the animals in the park [some kind of druid, I reckon]). Pouty has probably gone to a better place, I trust, but no matter, I must face the fact that I will probably never see her again.
I will probably miss the lackadaisical attitude, unchallenging work and flexibility of hours once I get to the new place but I really think I have been lax long enough. I must find my enthusiasm, drive and passion that I boasted about in my resume which I know I have, but have been lying dormant under this sedantary lifestyle...which can still be found when I am rushing for my deadlines in my freelance writing assignments.
"Take a bow, the night is over; this masquerade is getting older..." ~ Take a Bow - Madonna
"And now, the end is near; And so I face the final curtain..." ~ My Way - Frank Sinatra
"So long, farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, goodbye..." ~ So Long, Farewell - The Sound of Music
"There's no other way than to say goodbye" ~ Goodbye - Air Supply
