Found 4 newborn kittens with eyes still closed today at my void deck, shivering and mewing in the wind and rain in an empty mandarin orange box!! Poor little things! But I was worried that Mommy Cat will come back so I took the box to a less windy spot and reminded myself to check on them when I get back a couple of hours later. And indeed they were still there although some kind soul had also dragged them further away and gave them some old wraps to keep them warm. I called SPCA (thank goodness they have a 24hr hotline for emergencies at 6287-5355 ext 9!) and they told me to bring the kitties up to my place until they come collect them. My family helped to get rags, made some warm milk and tried to feed the kitties but they really didn't seem to want to drink. So I sat outside with my hand in the box to calm them down and warm them up (poor things were cold and damp!) until they stopped mewing and fell asleep. I felt them squirming, nuzzling and clawing my hand as they tried to get comfortable and so wished that I have my own place so I can keep them.

They are soooo cute - 3 milk and ginger ones and one milk and ginger with black spots. The nice dude from SPCA came around an hour later and took them away, saying there's no guarantee about what the society will do to them, and there will be no feedback to update on how they are doing. Boohoo. My poor kitties...
