Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
***SPOILERS ALERT***
This might be the best Star Wars movie ever - yes, even when compared across the board with Episodes IV, V andVI. Unbelievable? Because Episode III:
1. Is the first Star Wars movie that made me cry. No kidding. In spite of myself. And not just tearing, it was honest to goodness blubbing.
2. Is the darkest and most serious episode. Thats how it should be - less lame jokes from C3PO, less comic relief and thank almighty god, no annoying Jar Jar Binks equivalents.
3. Shows the corruptible nature of jedis and the powers of the Dark Side - finally some balance!
4. Shows Hayden Christensen finally seeming able to act and look much less wooden than in Ep II.
5. Has lots more emotional depth - sorrow, horror, gut wrenching scenes, dispair, yes it's a really dark movie but oh so beautiful! The transformation into Darth Vader, Padme's anguish, Anakin's love, lust and pain - all culminate in an intense rollercoaster of emotions that will make any Star Wars fan weep.
6. Has uber cool lightsabre fights - wow! Love those!
7. Will reassure any Star Wars fan that this is a truly legendary series!!
8. Ties back beautifully into Eps IV, V and VI - you can see the painstaking efforts made to ensure consistency and continuity - kudos for that!
9 Well paced, I hardly felt the length of the movie. It was rapt attention throughout for me!
Although:
1. Lines are still rather stiff and lame at times. Sometimes overly mushy.
2. Keisha Castle-Hughes spent only like 5 seconds on screen! What, is this something she just wants to put on her resume??
3. Hmm no major complaints actually! Perhaps the question is: Why did it take Lucas so long to finally make a Star Wars movie that is what it is supposed to be - engaging, exciting, amazing?!
