Fall in Love with Faye Again!
Pilgrimages always inspire one's Fayenatism, and this time it's no exception! A 3D2N trip to Hong Kong is really too short to do much especially since we attended Faye's concert on both nights, and the days were spent in the ever-delightful Sino Centre.
Faye's voice was simply mesmerising and her choice of music spanned the early Shirley Wong days to the latest Jiang Ai (To Love). Best of all, we even had the chance to touch Faye when the goddess shook hands with the audience, and she accepted our gift to her as well! It is such a touching moment for all Fayenatics to hear Faye sing again, with her voice in top form. Faye was dancing quite a bit, especially during QI?g柢 when she twirled gracefully. And she used props for her singing too, like using the loud hailer to sing certain parts of 開到荼蘼, which I really love. The stage is magnificent, with fireworks, fire and water, but unfortunately it also forces her to favour certain parts of the 4-sided stage.
On our pilgrimage we acquired a true treasure: "Faye to Face", a pictorial book of Faye with her own writings and even a CD of her talking about herself...hearing that CD makes one feel like she is talking on the phone with you. Here's hoping there will be more opportunities to see Faye before she does what she hopes to do, which is, as her book says, "that everyone will forget me once I stop singing".
