Just watched Wong Kar-Wai's Ashes of Time (Dong1 Xie2 Xi1 Du2) for the first time. Like most WKW films, it focuses not on the kungfu action but more of the characters. A star-studded cast include the 2 Tony Leungs, Brigitte Lin (she's brilliant as an androgynous character!), Carina Lau and Maggie Cheung. I like the way the story folds back upon itself and connects all the characters in a cobweb of emotions - love, hate, lust, jealousy...But the scene that perturbs me the most is when Carina Lau was lovingly caressing a brown horse with a large member.
Sidenote: How do horses show their love for each other? They can't hold hoofs or caress each other with hoofs, can they? But they can nuzzle, whinny and hump still, I guess.
